About copyright
FBC serves as a service that makes it easier to find digital resources available via the Internet in Poland's dispersed libraries, archives and digital museums. It does not act as a platform for publishing these resources. As such, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (the institution responsible for the FBC) assumes no responsibility for materials published in digital libraries, archives and museums accessible through the Digital Library Federation. Cultural and scientific institutions providing descriptions of digitized objects have legal personality and are responsible for the legality of the materials made available. In particular, this includes copyright and related rights issues.
Important:
If you notice, among the resources available through FBC, materials whose public release over the Internet results in a violation of rights (especially copyright), we suggest:
- Contact the institution that publishes the materials - it may be that making them available on the Internet is done, for example, under a special agreement or contract between the institution that makes the materials available and the owner of economic copyrights to the materials, or a particular publication was made available to the public by mistake. Contact to the institutions providing access to the collections can be found under the tab Institutions cooperating with FBC.
- Contact the institution/person holding the property copyright to the published materials - if there has been a violation of copyright law, certainly the institution or person holding such a right to the published resources will take the necessary actions and enable the publication of the materials on the Internet in accordance with the law (or to remove the published materials).
- Contacting the relevant law enforcement agencies - if contacting the publishing institution or copyright holder (in the case of rights violations) proves impossible or its effect is insufficient for you, you should contact the relevant law enforcement agencies, which will lead to the removal of the posted materials.
- In addition, please notify the FBC service staff of the situation
