  This publication is intended to be, or at least should be, a complement to another, namely Aktorzy Interpretacji ("Teksty Drugie" 2021, no. 2, pp. 101–117) by Paweł Bohuszewicz. The archaic part of Bogurodzica, which is prominent in that text, makes it especially clear that important actors of interpretation are also editors and editions. "Song of the Fathers" is an exceptional text in that it demonstrates how the choices of editing remain a necessary starting point for literary studies.;
  Publikacja intencjonalnie jest bądź przynajmniej powinna stać się dopełnieniem innej, mianowicie Pawła Bohuszewicza Aktorów interpretacji („Teksty Drugie” 2021, nr 2, s. 101–117). Pierwszoplanowa w tamtym tekście archaiczna część Bogurodzicy szczególnie wyraziście unaocznia, że ważni aktorzy interpretacji to także edytorzy oraz edycje. „Pieśń ojców” jest tekstem wyjątkowym w tym, że dowodzi, jak koniecznym punktem wyjścia literaturoznawczych działań pozostają przyjmowane wybory edycji.
