  The article explores issues related to literature in the context of “Polish School” abroad, focusing on the attitudes of the student and teacher, and the scope and quintessence of the educational message that is, what should “Saturday School” teach when dealing with Polish as second, and at times even foreign language. The suggested teaching strategy is that of language-literary teaching, in which both components komplement each other. The Polish Literature Textbook. Texts and Exercises addressed to “Polish high school” students serves to illustrate this method of teaching.;
  Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień ze świata szkoły polonijnej i literatury, postaw ucznia i nauczyciela, a także odnosi się do zakresu i kwintesencji przekazu edukacyjnego, czyli do tego, czego w istocie szkoła polonijna powinna (na)uczyć, zajmując się językiem polskim jako drugim, a niekiedy – jako obcym. Sugerowana strategia dydaktyczna to nauczanie językowo-literackie, w którym oba komponenty wzajemnie się dopełniają. Ilustracją tego sposobu nauczania jest podręcznik Literatura polska. Teksty i ćwiczenia skierowany do uczniów liceów polonijnych.
