  Taking Ucinek, a short composition by a poet from the Enlightenment period Józef Szymanowski (published posthumously in 1803), as a starting point, the author outlines the semantic field of the genre from the title, pointing to its relationships with a “fragment” or an “epigram”, and then relates a famous poem by a Romantic poet, Adam Mickiewicz Do ***. Na Alpach w Splügen 1829, to Ucinek by Szymanowski, through a topographic and situational context, by introducing into the analysis a poem by an Italian poet Giosue Carducci, entitled Elegia del Monte Spluga, and a German novel by Kurt Held, entitled Die rote Zara und ihre Bande, a burnt page of which hangs on the wall of the church in Splügen to commemorate the fire from 22 January 2008.;
  Wychodząc od krótkiego utworu oświeceniowego poety Józefa Szymanowskiego Ucinek (opublikowanego pośmiertnie w roku 1893) autor kreśli pole semantyczne tytułowego pojęcia gatunkowego, wskazując m.in. na jego związki z „fragmentem” i „epigramatem”, a następnie sytuuje w orbicie Ucinka Szymanowskiego znany wiersz romantycznego poety Adama Mickiewicza Do ***. Na Alpach w Splügen 1829, poprzez kontekst topograficzno-sytuacyjny wprowadzając do analizy utwór włoskiego poety Giosuè Carducciego Elegia del Monte Spluga oraz niemiecką powieść dla młodzieży Kurta Helda Die rote Zara und ihre Bande, nadpalona kartka z której wisi na ścianie kościoła w Splügen dla upamiętnienia pożaru z 22 stycznia 2008 roku.
