  Demographic transformations are inevitably showing that at present seniors are becoming a huge client group of customers, electors, patients and participants in the cultural life. To meet market needs halfway, a team of employees of the Institute of Sociology of the Medical University in Łódź drew an original project of studies in the scope of interdisciplinary gerontological studies. The present article is showing technical grounds for creating such a field, its characteristics in accordance with requirements of the Bolognese Process, a description of the effects of education, possible paths of education, a detailed timetable and career prospects.;
  Przemiany demograficzne nieuchronnie pokazują, że seniorzy stają się obecnie ogromną grupą konsumentów, klientów, wyborców, pacjentów i uczestników życia kulturalnego. Chcąc wyjść naprzeciw potrzebom rynkowym zespół pracowników Zakładu Socjologii Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Łodzi opracował autorski projekt studiów w zakresie interdyscyplinarnych studiów gerontologicznych. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia merytoryczne uzasadnienie dla utworzenia takiego kierunku, jego charakterystykę zgodną z wymogami procesu bolońskiego, opis efektów kształcenia, możliwe ścieżki kształcenia, szczegółową siatkę zajęć oraz perspektywy zawodowe.
