  The article presents an attempt to recreate a fragment of the linguistic and cultural image of a child captured in Czech language jokes. These texts perpetuate the image of a child primarily in preschool, early school and teenage years. Single examples of references to the earliest period of a child’s life – infancy – were also registered. The paper presents the functioning of a child in three types of social space: family, educational and peer. The author comes to the conclusion that in jokes a child is perceived through the eyes of an adult, and therefore, on the one hand, such features are emphasized, which are a certain lack in relation to adulthood: little knowledge about the world, naivety, helplessness, immaturity, and on the other hand, behaviors such as laziness, truancy, anti-social behavior.;
  Artykuł prezentuje próbę odtworzenia fragmentu językowo-kulturowego obrazu dziecka, jaki został uchwycony w czeskich dowcipach językowych. Teksty te utrwalają obraz dziecka przede wszystkim w wieku przedszkolnym, wczesnoszkolnym i nastoletnim. Zarejestrowane były także pojedyncze przykłady odniesienia do najwcześniejszego okresu życia dziecka – wieku niemowlęcego. Referat prezentuje funkcjonowanie dziecka w trzech typach przestrzeni społecznej: rodzinnej, edukacyjnej i rówieśniczej. Autorka dochodzi do wniosku, że dziecko w dowcipach postrzegane jest oczami dorosłego i w związku z tym podkreślane są z jednej strony takie jego cechy, które stanowią pewien brak w stosunku do dorosłości: mała wiedza o świecie, naiwność, bezradność, niedojrzałość, z drugiej zaś strony takie zachowania, jak lenistwo, wagarowanie, zachowania antyspołeczne.
