  Mary is closely connected with the salvific mission of Christ and the Church. Although She did not directly receive an apostolic mission, Her contribution to the work of ad gentes entitles Her to take a place before the Apostles. For this reason, the post-conciliar popes awarded Her the title “Star of Evangelization”. Pope Francis also uses it, but usually when he wants to point out that Mary is a “model of missionaries for the Church”. When he highlights Her maternal support for missionaries, he talks about “Mother of the missionary disciples” or the “Mother of Evangelization”. He also emphasizes that She was “the first missionary disciple of her Son Jesus”. The above terms are aspectual by nature, they reflect the multilateral influence of Mary on the missionary ministry of the Church. The title “Queen of the Missions” links them together into a coherent whole. Although this title does not come from Francis, he uses it most often, because he assumes that it most fully expresses Mary’s reference to the evangelizing mission of the Church. It is interesting and useful to approximate its theological meaning – especially since Francis does not present it directly. That is why this article follows in the footsteps of many of his statements in order to extract from them the theological message of the title “Queen of the Missions” and at the same time discover the originality of Francis’ interpretation.;
  Ze zbawczą misją Jezusa Chrystusa i Kościoła ściśle powiązana jest Maryja. Choć nie otrzymała Ona wprost apostolskiego posłannictwa, to jednak Jej wkład w działalność ad gentes uprawnia Ją do zajmowania miejsca przed apostołami. Z tego względu posoborowi papieże przyznali Jej tytuł: „Gwiazda ewangelizacji”. Używa go też papież Franciszek, ale zwykle wtedy, gdy chce wskazać, że Maryja jest „misyjnym wzorem dla Kościoła”. Uwydatniając Jej macierzyńskie wspieranie misjonarzy, mówi o „Matce uczniów–misjonarzy” lub „Matce ewangelizacji”. Podkreśla też, że była Ona „pierwszą uczennicą–misjonarką swojego Syna Jezusa”. Powyższe określenia cechuje aspektowość, oddają one wielostronny wpływ Maryi na misyjną posługę Kościoła. Spina je ze sobą w spójną całość tytuł: „Królowa misji”. Choć nie pochodzi on od Franciszka, to jednak papież stosuje go najczęściej, ponieważ, jego zdaniem, najpełniej wyraża on odniesienie Maryi do ewangelizacyjnej misji Kościoła. Interesujące i pożyteczne jest przybliżenie jego teologicznej wymowy – tym bardziej, że Franciszek nie przedkłada jej wprost. Dlatego niniejszy artykuł podąża śladami wielu jego wypowiedzi, żeby wydobyć z nich teologiczne przesłanie tytułu: „Królowa misji” i zarazem odkryć oryginalność Franciszkowej interpretacji.
