Description:
Workers together with knowledge workers were in the Second Republic of Poland the most significant group of employees. The legislature decided to publish in 1928 a separate regulation, which regulated the contract of employment of workers. The provisions of the regulation did not lose their power even after the Code of Obligations of 1934 came into force, in which art. 441–477 normalized provisions on contracts of employment. The provisions of the Code of Obligations in relation to the regulation in question, however, had only a subsidiary character. The article presents the regulations of the contracts of employment in the years 1928–1939, i.e. during the period when the regulation on the contract of employment of workers and the Code of Obligations remained in force. Therefore, the article discusses the provisions of the regulation of the contract of workers in correlation with the provisions of the regulation of employment and the Code of Obligations in terms of the employment contract.
