  The article is an expanded version of a paper that was delivered at the Second Congress of Polish Philosophy (Orla, October 7–10, 2022). Against the generally shown background of the situation with women’s access to higher education in the Kingdom of Poland (and Russia as a whole) in the 19th century, I present the life and work of the first Polish woman to obtain a doctorate in philosophy at the University of Zurich (1875). I discuss the main theses of Wolicka’s doctorate and her work for women’s rights in Poland after independence. The study is based on archival materials (Staatsarchiv des Kantos Zürich, Archiv des Stadt Zürich, Universität Archiv Zürich).;
  W artykule analizuję problem wyższego wykształcenia dla kobiet w Królestwie Polskim (oraz całej Rosji) w XIX wieku i na tym tle przedstawia życie i dzieło pierwszej Polki, która uzyskała stopień doktora filozofii w Uniwersytecie Zuryskim (1875). Omawiam główne tezy doktoratu Wolickiej oraz jej działalność na rzecz praw kobiet w Polsce po odzyskaniu niepodległości. Opracowanie opiera się na materiałach archiwalnych (Staatsarchiv des Kantos Zürich, Archiv des Stadt Zürich, Universität Archiv Zürich).
