The author makes an attempt at identifying preliminary framework conditions essential for the development of a knowledge management strategy at a university whose important responsibilities include knowledge generation, utilisation and diffusion. He defines and describes the knowledge base of a university and a two-dimensional competence matrix which, if thoroughly analysed, serves as a prerequisite for developing a knowledge management strategy for a university. In conclusion, the article stresses the need for harmonisation of knowledge management strategy with the university’s mission and strategy.;
Autor podejmuje próbę określenia warunków wstępnych, niezbędnych do opracowania strategii zarządzania wiedzą w szkole wyższej, której ważnymi zadaniami jest kreowanie, wykorzystywanie i rozpowszechnianie wiedzy. Definiuje i opisuje zasoby wiedzy uczelni oraz dwuwymiarową macierz kompetencji, której dokładne przeanalizowanie jest, zdaniem autora, warunkiem koniecznym przygotowania strategii zarządzania wiedzą w szkole wyższej. W konkluzji podkreśla konieczność zharmonizowania strategii zarządzania wiedzą z misją i strategią uczelni.
