Die Marxistische Romanistik kennzeichnete einen neuen Trend in der Er- forschung des römischen Rechts, der sich vom Formalismus und Dogmatismus der traditionel- len bürgerlichen Romanistik abwandte und ihr eine neue Methodologie des dialektischen und historischen Materialismus entgegensetzte, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf dem Klassenkampf lag. Zum Ort dieser ideologischen Expansion wurden in erster Linie solche Länder, die unter dem Einfluss der UdSSR standen. Die Hauptrolle spielte die tschechoslowakische Wissenschaft un- ter der Leitung des tschechischen Romanisten Professor Milan Bartošek, der sogar als „Herold der marxistischen Romanistik” galt. In anderen Ländern des sozialistischen Blocks erlag die Romanistik neuen Einflüssen in geringerem und differenzierterem Ausmaß. Polen und Ungarn behielten die am stärksten unabhängige Position bei, während die Deutsche Demokratische Re-publik eine drastische Ausnahme wurde, in der die gesamte Rechtswissenschaft überhaupt ein- geschränkt wurde und das römische Recht als Vorlesungsfach und wissenschaftliche Disziplin eigentlich nicht mehr existierte. Die Geschichte verwarf diese Thesen und Programme, auch die marxistische Romantik, als veraltet, obwohl ein interessanter historischer Beitrag zur Geschichte des Studiums des römischen Rechts erhalten blieb.;
Marxist Romanistics meant a new trend in the study of Roman law, moving away from the formalism and dogmatism of traditional bourgeois Romanistics and juxtaposing it crea- tively with a new methodology of dialectic and historical materialism, with particular emphasis on class struggle. The place of this ideological expansion was, first and foremost, the countries which came under the influence of the USSR. The leading role was played by Czechoslovakian studies under the guidance of the Czech romanist, Professor Milan Bartošek, who was even con- sidered a “herald of Marxist Romanistics.” In other countries of the socialist bloc the romanists gave in to new influences to a lesser and more varied extent. Poland and Hungary retained the most independent position, the drastic exception being the German Democratic Republic, where the whole science of law was reduced in general, and Roman law as an academic subject and sci- entific discipline ceased to exist. Although history has outmoded these theses and programmes, including Marxist Romanistics, an interesting historical contribution to the history of Roman law has remained.;
Romanistyka marksistowska oznaczała nowy nurt w badaniach nad prawem rzymskim, odchodzący od formalizmu i dogmatyzmu tradycyjnej romanistyki burżuazyjnej i przeciwstawiając jej twórczo nową metodologię materializmu dialektycznego i historycznego. ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem walki klas. Miejscem tej ekspansji ideologicznej stały się przede wszystkim państwa, które dostały się pod wpływ ZSRR. Czołową rolę odegrała nauka czechosłowacka pod kierunkiem czeskiego romanisty profesora Milana Bartoška, który został uznany wręcz za „herolda marksistowskiej romanistyki”. W innych krajach bloku socjalistyczne romanistyka poddała się nowym wpływom w mniejszym i bardziej zróżnicowanym stopniu. Najbardziej niezależną pozycję zachowały Polska i Węgry, drastycznym wyjątkiem zaś stała się Niemiecka Republika Demokratyczna, gdzie cała nauka prawa została w ogóle ograniczona, a prawo rzymskie jako przedmiot wykładowy oraz dyscyplina naukowa przestały właściwie istnieć. Historia odesłała jednak te tezy i programy, łącznie z marksistowską romanistyką, do lamusa, aczkolwiek pozostał interesujący historyczny przyczynek do dziejów nauki prawa rzymskiego.
