  The article attempts to critically analyze the concept of educational freedom within the context of free- dom and democracy as a value and their manifestation. It is an exemplification of the phenomena that is connected with the ongoing educational and social changes. Supervised freedom, elitist freedom or simulated freedom without critical reflection and awareness of their consequences may significantly reduce the quality of education and in consequence weaken the entire educational system and the level of a democratic society.;
  W artykule podjęto próbę krytycznej analizy i interpretacji pojęcia wolności edukacyjnej na tle rozważań o wartości i przejawach wolności i demokracji. Stanowi to swego rodzaju egzemplifikację zjawisk, które towarzyszą dokonującym się zmianom edukacyjnym i społecznym. Sygnalizowane zjawiska wolności nadzorowanej, wolności elitarnej czy wolności pozorowanej, pozostawione samym sobie, pozbawione krytycznego namysłu i świadomości ich skutków, mogą znacznie obniżyć jakość edukacji, a w konsekwencji osłabić cały system oświatowy i poziom społeczeństwa demokratycznego.
