  One of the basic problems emerging from the discussion of the cohesion of regions is the adoption of a satisfactory operational definition of territorial cohesion. In this study, the crucial factors determining territorial cohesion are assumed to be a region’s settlement and transport networks. This makes it possible to analyse territorial cohesion in one of its aspects, viz. transport accessibility. The analysis is conducted in two approaches. In the first, the transport accessibility ofWielkopolska is examined in terms of the state of the region’s transport network as compared with that of the other regions of Poland. In the other approach, the issue is studied by poviat in terms of the infrastructure accompanying the transport network and the recorded flows. The analysis helps to determine this aspect of Wielkopolska’s level of territorial cohesion.;
  Jednym z podstawowych problemów wyłaniającym się z dyskusji nad spójnością regionów jest przyjęcie zadowalającej definicji operacyjnej spójności terytorialnej. W pracy przyjmuje się, że istotnymi czynnikami warunkującymi spójność terytorialną są sieć osadnicza i sieć transportowa regionu. Takie podejście umożliwia analizę spójności terytorialnej w jednym z aspektów, mianowicie w aspekcie dostępności transportowej. Analizę tę prowadzi się w dwóch ujęciach.Wpierwszym ujęciu dostępność transportową województwa wielkopolskiego analizuje się w zakresie stanu infrastruktury transportowej województwa na tle układu regionalnego kraju.Wdrugim ujęciu dostępność transportową analizuje się w układzie powiatów w zakresie wyposażenia sieci infrastruktury transportowej oraz w zakresie przepływów występujących w sieci transportowej regionu. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła określić poziom spójności terytorialnej województwa wielkopolskiego w aspekcie dostępności transportowej.
