  Článek shrnuje výsledky korpusového výzkumu zaměřeného na uplatnění výrazu což v neformální mluvené komunikaci. Jeho dominantní funkcí jak v psaných, tak v mluvených textech je funkce navazovacího relativa. V neformálních mluvených rozhovorech však ještě výrazněji než v textech psaných dominuje základní tvar což, ostatní pádové tvary (čehož, čemuž, čemž, čímž) jsou jen okazionální. Vysoká frekvence výrazu což v neformální mluvené komunikaci je dána mimo jiné jeho uplatněním ve funkci diskurzního konektoru, kterým mluvčí vyjadřuje návaznost repliky na repliku předchozí, který však nemá větněčlenskou platnost a neobsazuje v navazující výpovědi žádnou strukturní pozici.;

This word has the reference function, both in written and spoken texts. In terms of parts of speech classification, this word has mostly the status of the relative pronoun. In spoken conversation, however, there is an even greater difference between the frequency of the basic case form (což) and the other (čehož, čemuž, čemž, čímž).
