  A considerable investment activity of the cities, focused to supplement infrastructure gap in the field of road transport has not yet meet the needs in this regard. despite the grants obtained from the EU, significant investments were supported by the cities themselves, and projects submitted, but unrealized in the previous and current programming perspective, become a measure of competition for resources, of which the major Polish cities will be applied for, in the next programming perspective. key WoRdS: infrastructure, road transport, city, investment, evaluation research;
  Znacząca aktywność inwestycyjna miast zorientowana na uzupełnianie luki infrastrukturalnej w sferze transportu drogowego nie przyniosła zaspokojenia potrzeb w tym zakresie. Pomimo uzyskiwanych dofinansowań ze środków europejskich znaczny ciężar inwestycji ponosiły same miasta, a projekty zgłoszone, choć niezrealizowane w poprzedniej i obecnej perspektywie programowej są wyznacznikiem konkurencji o środki, o które w kolejnej perspektywie będą aplikowały główne miasta Polski.
