Professor Gajda is one of the most important figures in modern stylistics. He was one of the first who said that there is a crisis in stylistics. He has described the reasons for the crisis (one of the reasons is the competition with the other communicative disciplines) and has found ways which can help overcome the crisis. Professor Gajda is an initiator of scientific discussions about the following questions: what is the nature of style, which distinctive features style and discourse have, which tasks stylistics has. Gajda is the creator of stylistics philosophy. He develops stylistics as an integrative and transcendental science. He offers to use in stylistics the theories of chaos, network and complication. Besides, Gajda uses the category of intellectual aura. The philosophy of stylistics which has been created by Gajda is very important.
