  The article presents the level of and spatial differences in demographic ageing and its dynamics process in the rural areas of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. It was shown against the background of this process in cities. The research covered the years 1995–2019. The analysis was conducted at the level of communes. In the study use was made of static and dynamic measures of demographic aging. The study showed that rural areas were characterized by a progressing ageing process, with the advancement of demographic ageing and the dynamics of this process lower than in the cities of the region. The ageing of the population is a diversified process also in spatial and temporal terms. It was the most intensive in the first analyzed decade, while after 2005 the dynamics of this process weakened. Apart from communes that are demographically old, there are communes with a relatively slower progressing old age.;
  W artykule przedstawiono poziom i przestrzenne zróżnicowanie starości demograficznej oraz dynamikę procesu starzenia się ludności na obszarach wiejskich województwa wielkopolskiego. Ukazano ją na tle przebiegu tego procesu w miastach. Badania dotyczą lat 1995–2019. Analizę przeprowadzono w ujęciu gmin. W badaniach wykorzystano miary starości demograficznej w ujęciu statycznym i dynamicznym. Obszary wiejskie charakteryzują się postępującym procesem starzenia się, przy czym stopień zaawansowania starości demograficznej oraz dynamika tego procesu są niższe niż w miastach województwa. Względnie niski poziom zaawansowania starości demograficznej obszarów wiejskich wykazuje znaczne zróżnicowanie wewnątrzregionalne. Obok gmin, które można nazwać demograficznie starymi, występują jednostki o relatywnie wolniej postępującej starości oraz takie, w których ma miejsce odmładzanie populacji.
