  The author of the article presents his views concerning the controversial issue of the origins in Polish dialects of composite numerals (21–99) of the type pięć dwadzieścia (E. lit. ‘five twenty’) (instead of dwadzieścia pięć (E. lit. ‘twenty five’)), in which the cipher is prepositioned. The considerations are exemplified with language material from the regions of Podhale and Spisz in southern Poland. While giving credit to the possible Latin pattern, the author opts for the German origin of the numerals in question. This viewpoint is justified with historical and linguistic facts embracing the intensity of contacts between Poles and numerous German-speaking settlers who used to live in areas where Polish highlander dialects are spoken. Many place names in Podhale and Spisz are German by origin.;
  W artykule autor przedstawia swoje poglądy na temat budzącego wątpliwości pochodzenia w polskich gwarach liczebników złożonych (21–99) o strukturze zestawienia z jednostką w  prepozycji (typu: pięć dwadzieścia, zam. dwadzieścia pięć). Swoje rozważania opiera głównie na przykładach z Podhala i Spiszu. Doceniając rolę wzorców łacińskich, autor opowiada się za hipotezą o niemieckim pochodzeniu tej grupy liczebników. Uzasadnia to faktami historycznojęzykowymi i historycznymi, zwłaszcza intensywnością kontaktów z niemieckojęzyczną, napływową ludnością, zamieszkującą niegdyś licznie obszary występowania polskich gwar góralskich. Świadczą o tym np. germańskiego pochodzenia nazwy wielu wsi spiskich i podhalańskich.
