  In the article, there are presented general and specific solutions as regards the proposed directions of changes in the socio-welfare policy, with these solutions being analyzed from the viewpoint of work motivation and welfare security. More stress has been laid on two problems, namely on determinants of the reform of th welfare benefits system in conditions of the new system of work and principles of distribution in the economy under reform, and on the problem of limits to changes in the welfare sphere in conditions of implementing the new model of socialism.
