  The article discusses the problem of media competences. They are understood as a harmonicconglomerate of knowledge, skills and attitudes towards media. Special focus was given to creationof media messages, which was presented theoretically and in the research. Theoreticalaspect is focused around the characteristics and the process of creating media messages. In theempiric part the article describes the qualitative research in pupils and teachers of gimnazjum.The gimnazjum pupils were selected because of their early adolescence, also because they arethe main media users.
