  The article presents a fragment of diagnostic-correlative research of a mixed character, identifying pupils’ information literacy in the use of ICT methods and tools. The author aims to answer the question defining the frequency of using ICT by children and adolescents (hierarchy of importance of activities) in the area of leisur e time spending. For this purpose, the method of diagnosticsurvey (questionnaire and interview) and statistical methods were used. Together, 2510 pupils and 1110 teachers (in Poland) were involved. It was established that: 1) according to the aggregate hierarchy of the importance of activities, the students attached the least weight (fifth place) and the teachers low weight (fourth place) to the leisure time spending in the cyberspace;2) there is a relationship (correlation: weak, negative – r  –0,06) between the students’ and teachers’ opinions as to the frequency of using ICT instruments by children and adolescents in order to spend leisure time; 3) the calculations showed significant statistical differences between the frequency of using ICT by children and adolescents in the area of leisure time spendingand gender, the stage of education of students and the place (environment) of students’ learning; 4) there is a noticeable slight discrepancy between the opinions of students and teachers, the insignificant “separation” of the world of children and youth (“Us”) from the world of teachers (“Them”).;
  W artykule przedstawiono fragment badań diagnostyczno-korelacyjnych o charakterze ilościowo-jakościowym, ustalających kompetencje informacyjne uczniów w zakresie wykorzystywania metod i narzędzi ICT. Podjęto w nim próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie o częstość korzystania przez dzieci i młodzież z ICT (hierarchię ważności działań) w obszarze pożytkowania czasu wolnego.Zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego (ankietę i wywiad) oraz metody statystyczne. Zbadano 2510 uczniów i 1110 nauczycieli. Ustalono, że: 1) według zagregowanej hierarchii ważności działań spędzaniu czasu wolnego w cyberprzestrzeni uczniowie nadali najmniejszą wagę (miejsce piąte), a nauczyciele małą wagę (miejsce czwarte); 2) istnieje związek (korelacja: nikła, ujemna, negatywna – r  –0,06) między opinią uczniów a spostrzeżeniami nauczycieli co do częstości korzystania przez dzieci i młodzież z instrumentów ICT w celu spędzaniu czasu wolnego; 3) obliczenia wykazały istotne różnice statystyczne między częstością korzystania przez dzieci i młodzież z ICT jako formy spędzania czasu wolnego a: płcią, etapem kształcenia, miejscem (środowiskiem)nauki uczniów; 4) zauważalny jest niewielki rozdźwięk między opinią uczniów a nauczycieli, mało istotne „odseparowanie” świata dzieci i młodzieży („My”) od świata nauczycieli („Oni”).
